Karen Larson visited Wee Hope Mine / Radium King 5 years ago in a Super Cub with 31” tires

Strip in good shape. This one can be tricky with winds. Today was nice. Walked down over the hill to snoop around the mine camp. Lots of stuff strewn about. Our favorites...on old upside down car and a lone light bulb still hanging in the middle of the shack. A fun place to explore...just go early as the wind can swirl in there.

Narrow long strip. Encroaching vegetation, but in good shape. Extremely picturesque on a non-hazy day!

Both times we’ve landed here in last couple of weeks, there were mule deer on the grassy end of the southern end of the strip...they ran off when they heard us coming!

Karen Larson visited Selenite / Factory Butte Coal Mine 5 years ago in a Super Cub with 31” tires

East-west strip is a little soft, but landable. Landed east for winds...the East part of the strip has some washouts. No obstructions on strip.

George Sousa visited Taylor Flat 5 years ago in a Rans S-7S with 26" tires

The runway IS CLOSED and there is NO CAMPING AREA! Disregard the above indications that the runway and camping area are in great condition. Runway has numerous older diagonal trenches across it. There are no wheel tracks of any sort and it did not appear useable, so I didn't land. But it's a beautiful area with the Green River nearby.

Vlad Karpayev visited Bonanza 5 years ago in a RV9A

Made a low approach. The overgrown sage brush is up to a foot high on the runway. Rutted need major work. No windsock but wind could be judged from a power plant chimney a mile away. There is an adjacent dirt road which could be used by STOL aircrafts. Interesting vicinities of gilsonite mining. A time freeze from last century.

Tom Herbert visited Cedar Mountain 5 years ago in a Cessna 140 with 6.50 tires

Strip in good condition but it is a little rough. If there's a south wind taking off up is still a good option.
