Gary Hilley visited Horseshoe Canyon 5 years ago in a Super Cub with 31 tires

SW 2/3 of runway is in good condition. Is seeing some use, so vegetation is no issue.

Did the hike to arch today. Nobody else out there. The arch is pretty neat, the trail is all over the place though. Cairns everywhere, so it takes a little hunting to find. If you plan to do it, maybe mark the arch in a GPS to help find it.

Great as always! One of the signs (the one on the west end of the road) is missing. Not sure if we should replaced it or not as the sign on the east side is in good condition.

Donald Goodman visited Dolores Point 5 years ago in a C182P with 8.50 tires

Bill Winfield, son of Wally Winfield, completely regraded the runway this past summer. Bill also installed new "Keep Off Runway" signs and is maintaining the two windsocks. If you meet Bill, please shake his hand and buy him a drink. There are two significant bumps (hills really) at the south end of the runway but you still have nearly 2400' of fairly constant runway (uphill to the south). Good parking at two locations on the south end.

Tom Herbert visited Mineral Canyon 5 years ago in a Cessna 140 with 6.50 tires

The strip was firm and smooth. Didn't notice any soft spots and there is minimal grass or weed growth.

Roy Evans visited Sage Brush Bench 5 years ago in a PA11 with 800x6 tires

Runway is merely a two-track road that is unfortunately not straight, not level, and not smooth. Would require major work in order to make the airstrip more suitable. Will continue to label as unverified for the time being.

Roy Evans visited Happy Canyon 5 years ago in a PA11 with 800x6 tires

Runway could use some minor work (a few bumps here and there, just a few weeds...not too bad). Crosswind runway could use some major work. Will add to our spring airstrip cleanup schedule.

Randy Owen visited Temple Mountain 5 years ago in a Zenith 701 with 8.50 tires

The strip is hard to spot till you’re on final, as it blends in with the surrounding terrain. It is soft sand with small weeds and bushes, nothing over 6 inches tall or so. The surface is a little rough, but nothing larger, high flotation tires can’t handle. My Zenith 701’s 8.50 tires did okay on it, but but it was at the upper limit of my tolerance for rough surfaces.
