Cameron Nosler visited Hidden Splendor 6 years ago in a Kitfox with 8.50 tires

Beautiful area. Runway is in good condition. Windsock is a little sad and not the most helpful location...

Kyle Stone visited Cedar Mountain 6 years ago in a Cessna R172K Hawk XP with 8.5 tires

The strip is in great shape. No ruts or damage found. Only caution is at the south end of the strip where there is a large rock ( 12" dia.) with a large hole next to it. Looks like someone tried to dig it out but stopped. Just don't drop a wheel in there when turning around!

Roger Rollins visited Dark Canyon 6 years ago in a Maule M5-180C with 8.50 tires

Landed 10/5/19. Moderate crosswind. Runway is fairly rough with clump grass and some rocks. Land uphill on 8; depart 26. Marginal, but landable. If loaded, continue on to the east past some mild humps to get more takeoff room. It’s not smooth, and it’s remote.

If possible, recommend landing uphill on 13. Wind favored 13 this day. If landing 31, keep in mind that the far end of 31 (apch end of 13) is steeper, so if you’re long landing 31, you’ll be downhill quickly. That said, the runway is long and wide. Must have been graded recently ... very smooth. High altitude strip at 7538’, so DA can be a problem. Good campsites off the N side of runway. Very nice strip.

Echo comments by Randy. This is a picturesque spot. With a little work on the runway, could be a destination for several planes at a time. Not smooth, but quite landable. Pretty flat, so either direction for ldg/to. Was just a bit buggy the day we were there. Not much wind.

Josh Kelson visited Mineral Canyon 6 years ago in a Mercedes with 33” tires

Attended the work party with the UBCP. Took out some bumps towards the up-river end of the runway and drug it. Looks pretty good. Some soft dirt but not bad at all.

Larry Nagel visited Angel Point 6 years ago in a C150/150 with 6.00 tires

Nice fall day, a bit on the windy side. Landed to the east and took off to the west. This was my first landing at a Utah back country strip. Great fun and challenging.

Decided to take Eagle, CO based Alpine Aviation's two day Utah Back Country Flying Course. Thank you Joe for a great flying experience. Runway was in good condition. The very south end of the runway is covered in tall weeds with soft dirt.

Landed west, first 1/3 damp with a large water puddle which I landed past. Took off south, dry and good condition.

Roger Rollins visited Dirty Devil 6 years ago in a Maule M5 180C with 8.50 tires

Not the best strip in strong winds. Short, but plenty of room with stable approach. Surface is decent, with no major ruts or holes. Challenging and fun strip.
